Known primarily for its large, deeply lobed leaves. Deep lustrous green in summer, yellow and orange in fall. Native to western North America. Also known as Canyon Maple.
Oregon Maple prefers full sun or light, dappled shade. Likes fertile, moisture-retentive soil.
How To Start These Seeds:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: Cold stratify for 60 days
Germination: Sow seed 3/8 inch deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed
Other: Fall sowing in mulched beds is prefered to artificial stratification
