Scientific Name: Castanea dentata
Height: 100 ft
Form: rounded
Type: deciduous tree
Comments
The American chestnut was once one of the most valuable and widespread of
the American hardwoods. Unfortunately, an introduced fungal disease,
chestnut blight, has virtually destroyed the species. There are few
uninfected trees remaining.
