Comments
Red Pine has reddish bark soft, flexible needles. Red Pine is often grown
for timber and is used in windbreaks. It adapts to adverse sites but is
not salt tolerant.
Cultivars
'Don Smith' - A dwarf selection. The cones are purple and ornamental when
young.
'Quinobequin' - A globe-shaped dwarf with needles half as
long as those of the species. Originated from a witches broom.
