Developed with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, BioCare Outdoor Autocidal Gravid Ovitraps (AGOs) provide permanent season-long population control of a wide range of Aedes mosquitoes that may carry West Nile virus, dengue, yellow fever, and chikungunya. These safe, pesticide-free traps are demonstrated to reduce mosquito populations by more than 80 percent when used as recommended.
Each mosquito trap is an 18-liter black bucket fitted with a capture chamber on top. The low-maintenance design only requires water and a small amount of hay or grass clippings to work. Once filled with water and vegetation, the traps appeal to female mosquitoes as an attractive site for laying eggs. The females fly into the capture chamber through the top screen and once inside, they are blocked from reaching the water by an extra-fine mesh screen. The female mosquitoes and their eggs become trapped and die on the replaceable glue board inside the chamber.
For best results, use at least three mosquito traps per house and replace the glue boards every eight weeks. The sticky glue board in the capture chamber is easy to replace without having to pull off the whole lid. Package includes two BioCare Reusable Outdoor AGO Mosquito Traps and works with BioCare Replacement Sticky Boards for AGO Mosquito Traps (Model TK74021). Made in the USA.
