General Care Tips Macarthur Palms grow in a variety of sun and shade conditions. Trees tolerate a variety of moist, well-drained soils. Not very tolerant of drought and cold. Prune sparingly. Avoid damaging lower trunk and roots. Can be grown indoors. Things to Watch For There are no major insect or disease problems.
