Alkaline soils should be avoided. Growth can be rapid in moist, fertilized conditions. Use restraint when pruning fronds to avoid tree decline. Things to Watch For: Insect pests include palm leaf skeletonizer and scale. The Queen Palm is not affected by lethal yellowing disease but is vulnerable to ganoderma butt rot. |
