The granular stump remover makes the stump porous by dissolving tree lignin binding between cellular layers of the wood. Then kerosene or fuel oil is poured onto the stump. When ignited it will burn down to the roots. Stumps do not burn with an open flame or billowing smoke when treated with his product. If burning is not desired, this product can still be used to accelerate the natural decomposition of the tree trunk. The stump remover material should be allowed to stand for approximately 4 to 6 weeks before adding the kerosene or fuel oil.
