Olea europaea: Common Edible Olive Seeds

1-3" evergeen gray-green leaves with many fragrant flowers. Makes a good ornamental with dense rounded form in poor soils, more vigorous irregular tree in good soil. Extremely drought resistant. Grown commercially in California for olives. Native to the Mediterranean.

How To Start These Seeds:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: None required
Germination: Sow seed 3/8" deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed, remove mulch upon germination.
Other:Germination may be delayed until the following year; cracking seed coat may help germination.
