The Green Ash is a vigorous and well-shaped dense shade tree. Bark is gray and furrowed. Ideal for roadside or landscape planting. Very bright yellow fall colour. Also called the Red Ash.

When choosing a location, keep in mind that the Green Ash has a fast growth rate. It grows up to 60 feet in height and 50 to 60 feet in spread. It can be planted in zones 2 to 9. It prefers full sun, but will tolerate almost any soil type.

How To Start These Seeds:
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: Warm stratify for 60 days, cold stratify for 60 days
Germination: Sow seed 3/8 inch deep, tamp the soil, keep moist, mulch the seed bed
Other: Natural fall sowing in mulched beds
