The Chinese Redbud is small, upright and usually multi-trunked. Bears rose-purple or purplish flowers slightly larger than the Eastern Redbud. Yellow-green fall colour. Great as a specimen, in a garden border or in groupings. Very pretty.
When choosing a location, keep in mind that the Chinese Redbud has a moderate growth rate. It grows up to 10 feet in height and 10 feet in spread. It can be planted in zones 6 to 9. Easily transplanted. Prefers full sun, but tolerates a variety of soil types.
