An ornamental pine tree noted for its long, lustrous, bright green needles and unusual bark which eventually exfoliates and shows irregular coloured patterns. Pyramidal in habit and often multi-trunked, though it can easily be trained to a single trunk. A good landscape choice. Originated in China. Bonsai candidate.
When choosing a location, keep in mind that the Lacebark pine has a very slow growth rate. It grows up to 40 feet in height and 30 feet in spread. It can be planted in zones 5 to 9. Prefers full sun and well-drained, acid or alkaline soil.
