The 0.75-inch-thick pine construction provides insulation, while ventilation slots beneath the roof support airflow and temperature regulation. Angled openings at the corners of the base allow water to drain, and the sloped, overhanging roof helps protect the nesting area from precipitation.

The rough interior gives nestlings extra grip as they move toward the entrance. One side panel lifts open for nest checks and seasonal cleaning and is secured with a metal latch. A metal hanger and predrilled lower hole provide mounting options for a tree or post.

The unfinished pine will naturally weather to a gray tone over time with outdoor exposure.
