The European Hawthron is sometimes called a 'single-seeded hawthorn' or 'oneseed hawthorn'. Larger, denser and more variable in form than the English hawthorn. Produces white flowers in late spring and is almost completely thornless. This tree has upright branches with a narrow habit and is a good choice for urban areas. Native to England and Europe.
When choosing a location, keep in mind that the European Hawthorn has a moderate growth rate. It grows up to 25 feet in height and 9 feet in spread. It can be planted in zones 5 to 9. Prefers full sun and well-drained soil, but fairly tolerant of adverse conditions.
