Small tree similar to Acer ginnala, but taller with unlobed leaves. Good red fall colour and bright red samara wings. Very tough. A good choice when a small tree is needed.

Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: Cold stratify for 90-120 days
Germination: Sow seed 1/8 inch deep, tamp the soil, mulch the seed bed
Other: Natural fall sowing in mulched beds for spring germination
